A Mesmer Avenue couple was arrested early Thursday morning after police received a 911 call about their four-year-old daughter crying outside their home.
Zaindre J. Yarborough Jr. and Angel Nowicki, both 37, of Mesmer Street were charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Neighbors told police the little girl had been left alone since about 11 p.m. Wednesday night and somehow got out of the house.
The couple was tracked down near a house on Hirschbeck Street and arrested about 1:15 a.m.
Angel Nowicki also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree promoting prison contraband after police found she had been hiding four rocks of crack cocaine and a crack pipe containing crack cocaine residue under her clothing.
The couple’s child was turned over to her aunt and Erie County Child Protective Services unit was notified, police said.
