MAYVILLE – A Forestville motorist was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred while he was driving drunk, according to Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies.
Matthew R. Greenough, 26, was pulled over shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday after he was seen driving over the center line of South Roberts Road in the Town of Dunkirk, deputies said. It was discovered that his vehicle was involved in an earlier hit-and-run accident in Dunkirk.
After further investigation showed Greenough was intoxicated, he was taken into custody and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, as well as failure to keep right.
Greenough was issued tickets to appear in Dunkirk Town Court.
He also will face charges from Dunkirk city police in connection with the accident, deputies said. Details about that accident weren’t immediately available.
