Both drivers facing charges in Pembroke collision

PEMBROKE – A motorcyclist was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center early Thursday after colliding with a pickup truck in the Genesee County Town of Pembroke, sheriff’s deputies reported.

The accident occurred at about 6 a.m. at the intersection of Cohocton and Lake roads. Deputies said Stephen R. Ryan, 36, of Corfu, who was traveling north on a motorcycle, collided with a westbound pickup driven by Peter J. Hilchey, 33, of Oakfield.

Ryan, who suffered lower body injuries, was airlifted to the medical center in Buffalo, where he was treated and released. Deputies said charges against him are pending.

Hilchey, who wasn’t injured, was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign, deputies said.
