Nearly 70 musical acts will perform in eight venues over four days for the second annual Herd Fest.
Bands from Buffalo, Rochester, New York City and Baltimore are among those performing at the indie-music festival opening Thursday. The event has grown since its debut last year, showcasing nearly double the number of musical acts and adding more venues.
This year, bands will perform in Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar (253 Allen St.), Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St.), Sugar City (1239 Niagara St.), Mohawk Place (47 E. Mohawk St.), the Tralf (622 Main St.), Allen Street Hardware (245 Allen St.), Black Dots (223 Lafayette Ave.) and Spiral Scratch Records (291 Bryant St.).
The first night of music features a full slate of performers in Mohawk Place, with Transmission Dance Party at 8 p.m., Bryan Johnson and Family at 8:30 p.m., Attic Basement at 9:45 p.m. and Mallwalkers at 11 p.m.
For the full schedule, visit herdfest.com, where you can also purchase all-access bracelets for $20 in advance. Otherwise entry will be $5 at the door at each venue on the night of the show.
