A fire Wednesday morning caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a Grant Street building, which is facing demolition because the structure was compromised.
The fire at 67 Grant St., at the intersection of Arnold Street, was reported at about 9:30 a.m. It took approximately an hour to bring it under control.
The building, which officials said measures 100 feet by 60 feet, was believed to have been vacant.
Fire officials reported that the fire began on the first floor of the two-story, mixed-use building, and extended into the basement and second floor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
