LOCKPORT – Thomas C. Rotondo Jr., who was elected mayor of Lockport five times, heads the third annual list of inductees into the DeSales Catholic School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, announced Monday.
Rotondo, who graduated from the former DeSales High School in 1950, served as mayor from 1980-85 and again from 1990-93.
Other inductees include Rev. Walter DeSa, Class of 1955, a missionary for the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in Namibia; Rocco Surace, Class of 1973, an accountant and partner in the Bonadio Group, Williamsville; Ellen Martin, Class of 1976, a Lockport businesswoman and public art advocate; and Brian F. Costello, Class of 1980, president of Diversified Manufacturing of Lockport.
The induction banquet will be held Oct. 8 at Classics V restaurant on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst. Tickets are available by calling the school at 433-6422. The day after the dinner, the five inductees will join the current DeSales students for Mass at the school and the addition of their names to the Hall of Fame display.
