Arrest made in Lisbon Avenue hammer attack

A Lisbon Avenue woman was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after an alleged Saturday night hammer attack on another woman who lives in the same apartment house.

Shakisha Young, 30, who lives in the lower apartment, was arrested by Northeast District police after Tamika Taylor, 39, who lives in the upper apartment, told officers shortly after 9:30 p.m. that Young struck her in the head with a hammer at least three times. Taylor was treated in Erie County Medical Center and released.
