Saturday, 7 p.m.: Debut of the 2015 Silo City Reading Series featuring poets Zachary Schomburg and Alana Kelley, the Philadelphia-based alternative country/indie folk band Small Houses, and an exhibit of photographs by visual artist Nick Torsell. Schomburg lives in Portland, Ore., where he edits and publishes Octopus Books. He is the author of four collections of poems, “The Book of Joshua” (Black Ocean Press, 2014), “Fjords, volume 1” (Spork Press, 2012), “Scary, No Scary” (Black Ocean, 2009) and “The Man Suit” (Black Ocean 2007). Alana Kelley is a practicing textual and visual artist. Her work, consisting of video installation, mixed media collage, material and performance poetry, embraces contemporary styles, centralizing around the existent ultramodern and millennial. She is currently studying ecocriticism, poetics and literary theory at the University at Buffalo. Silo City complex on Ohio Street at Childs Street in Buffalo.
