Vehicle strikes Buffalo Fire rescue truck, injuring four

Four people were injured when a vehicle struck a Buffalo Fire Department rescue truck late Saturday on the city’s near East Side, police and fire officials reported.

Authorities say Rescue 1 was responding to a call with lights and sirens activated when it was struck by another vehicle at about 8 p.m. at Fillmore and East Delavan avenues, just east of the interchange between the Scajaquada and Kensington expressways.

One firefighter and three people in the other vehicle were taken to Erie County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed at this time but the incident remains under investigation.
