Connor Panas and Brett Siddall of the Canisius baseball team have been named third-team All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings. The ABCA/Rawlings team is the oldest All-America squad in college baseball, as it started in 1949.
Panas and Siddall were also named Division I Northeast All-Region first-team selections by ABCA/Rawlings.
Panas, a ninth-round draft choice of Toronto in the MLB draft this month, hit .372 with 11 homers and 68 RBIs. Siddall, who was taken in the 13th round by Oakland, was the 2015 MAAC Player of the year and finished with a career batting average of .339. The two players helped the Golden Griffins reach the NCAA Tournament this year.
