The University at Buffalo’s athletes finished up their participation at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday. Decathlete Mike Morgan dropped out of the competition after eight events.
Morgan failed to clear a height in the pole vault, and did not earn any points for that portion of the competition. He then did not throw the javelin or run the 1,500 meters.
The trip to Oregon was memorable for UB, thanks to Jonathan Jones’ victory in the shot put on Wednesday. He is the first national champion in the university’s Division I history.
