A Town of Tonawanda gas station was robbed early Wednesday by two men whose faces were concealed by clothing, according to police.
The robbery occurred at about 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunoco at 4010 Delaware Ave., at Knoche Road. The robbers, described only as white men, entered the station with what appeared to be T-shirts wrapped around their faces, with holes cut out for their eyes, officers were told.
One of the men had what appeared to be a gun, a department spokesman said. An employee turned over an unspecified amount of cash.
The robbers ran south on Delaware Avenue and were last seen crossing the street eastward, heading toward Elmlawn Cemetery. A police search of the area, which included the use of a dog, came up empty.
