State police retracing steps in search for Dannemora escapees

State police and other law enforcement officers will search homes in the village of Dannemora on Wednesday, as they continue their investigation into the escape of two inmates from the Clinton Correctional Facility.

The searches are not the result of a new lead. Rather, law enforcement personnel are retracing steps made early in the investigation. Dannemora residents will notice an increased police presence in the area.

People noticing anything unusual at their residences or seasonal homes are asked to contact law enforcement immediately. State police are also urging people to report any suspicious activity at all, including any sign of trespass, burglary or vehicle theft.
