A 21-year-old Hazelwood Avenue man was arrested very late Tuesday night as he was allegedly bicycling along that street near Lang Avenue with a loaded .38-caliber handgun in his hand.
Cornelius Truesdale reportedly tried to run away on foot when stopped by a police officer but he quickly slipped and fell. He was arrested as he allegedly tried to hide the firearm in his hoodie. He was charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and obstruction of governmental administration for trying to flee. Police officers seized from Truesdale what they described as a Charter Arms .38-caliber handgun loaded with five bullets.
