Two boys were arrested on burglary and other charges after a short foot chase with police officers on Crescent Avenue late Monday night.
The two boys were arrested after they were spotted by police in the 2200 block of Main Street riding bicycles that looked identical to the bikes a resident of Greenfield Street described as having been stolen from a garage in the first block of that street just after 7 p.m. Monday.
When approached by police on Main Street the two juveniles got off the bikes, left them on the street and fled on foot, with both being caught on Crescent Avenue. The two were taken back to Greenfield Street, and both were identified by witnesses who had reported the garage break-in hours earlier. The two juveniles were charged with second-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.
