Man is scammed out of his wallet at Falls casino

NIAGARA FALLS – A man playing the slots at the Seneca Niagara Casino reported his wallet stolen at midnight on Monday.

He said while he was playing a woman started chatting with him and was overly friendly for a few minutes. After she left, he realized his wallet, which contained $500 in cash, was gone.

Security video showed that while she was talking to him, an unknown man slipped around him and picked up his wallet and then walked away with the woman.

The female suspect was briefly detained by casino security, but released before police arrived. She has not been charged. The wallet was recovered outside in a garbage can, but the cash and a $25 slots voucher were missing, police said.
