An 18-year-old driver charged with driving while intoxicated is believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run incident, Orchard Park police reported Monday.
An officer found a vehicle on Transit Road early Friday with damage and two shredded tires on its passenger side. It was determined the driver, Kailyn R. Miller of Elma, had been involved in a hit-and-run crash at an unknown location and had fled the scene, police said.
Miller was intoxicated and believed to be under the influence of marijuana, police said. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and cited for driving with unsafe tires.
Miller was taken to a nearby medical center for blood tests to determine the alcohol and drug content of her blood, police said. Additional charges may be filed once those results are in.
Miller’s vehicle was towed and impounded, and she was released in her mother’s custody, pending an appearance in Orchard Park Town Court.
