It’s so great to see vibrant waterfront
I have been hanging around the waterfront in Buffalo since my Mom and Dad first took me to see the Naval Park ships back in the ’70s and I can honestly say I have never seen so much public-friendly redevelopment, so many people and the sheer amount of event programming there as I have in the last couple of years. To ride the water taxi into the Central Wharf and hear the music and the excited kids and smell the food cooking is to think for a second that you are at Disney or Universal in Florida.
People are reconnecting with our harbor in ways I never thought possible, and the whole stretch from Tonawanda to Lackawanna has gone from a ghost town a few years ago to the place to be in town on a warm summer evening. There has been some serious public money spent there and the payoff is starting to happen as private investment is starting to come on now.
It’s a great time to be part of it and I sure wish Mom and Dad were still here to see it all. They would be absolutely astonished at all the positive change that’s happening.
