NIAGARA FALLS – Oakwood Cemetery and the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area will honor a group of four notable residents buried in the cemetery on Portage Road at 10 a.m. next Saturday.
This year’s winners were voted on by members of the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area. Markers will be unveiled at each gravesite.
Oakwood Cemetery was founded in 1852 and many prominent Niagara Falls residents are buried there. Oakwood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, when the first class of notables was unveiled.
