Things haven’t looked this rosy in a long time
How can you not be excited about what’s on the horizon for our two local professional sports teams this year?
Rex Ryan has brought a confidence that hasn’t existed in this city from a player or coach since possibly the Jim Kelly era for the Bills. And Dan Bylsma brings some big time experience and success to the Sabres.
Now all we need is for both the new and established players on both of these squads to perform to our lofty expectations, along with the continued commitment of the Pegulas to do everything necessary in bringing that much-awaited championship to Buffalo.
It’s simply good to know that all concerned seem to be headed in the right direction this time, that of putting success over profit as the No. 1 priority.
Getting capable coach is just a start for the Sabres
Is Dan Bylsma the man who will bring the Sabres out of the doldrums? He coached Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh. But he won’t have that caliber of player in Buffalo. Bringing the young players into NHL competitiveness will take time and patience. His hockey experience and expertise might do the trick. Only time will tell. But the Sabres should have these objectives and goals this season:
1. Get out of last place.
2. Compete for a playoff spot.
3. Get Tim Murray to smile a bit more.
