LOCKPORT – The Lockport Sesquicentennial Committee is planning a series of 150 events to mark the city’s 1250th birthday Saturday through July 5. To help fund those events, the committee is having special “Lockport 150” banners created with the names of individuals, groups or businesses. The $150 single-sided banners will be hung along Main Street throughout the summer. About three dozen businesses and individuals already have bought them, the committee reported.
The committee is also selling lawn signs for $25, T-shirts for $20, commemorative DVDs for $15, and lapel pins for $5. An order form is available online at Lockport150.com. The items also can be purchased directly at the Historic Palace Theatre, 2 East Ave., and the History Center of Niagara, 215 Niagara St.
