More than a dozen streets in the Elmwood Village neighborhood will be closed during the morning of June 13 for the 15th Annual Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure. The event includes a 5k walk and run and a 1-mile fun walk.
The Race for the Cure celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. It also raises funds for local breast-health programs.
The Race begins on Lincoln Parkway opposite the Delaware Park Rose Garden and continues through Elmwood Village, including Delaware Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.
Festivities begin at 7:30 a.m., a pre-race program begins at 8:30 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m.
Several roads will be closed in the neighborhood, beginning at 7 a.m. The majority of the closures will occur between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
