Larry Rosen, founder and co-owner of Parker Pharmacy, died May 5 in Buffalo General Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 82.
A lifelong resident of Buffalo, he attended Bennett High School and the University of Buffalo. His college years were interrupted when he spent two years in Germany as a medic during the Korean War. He returned to Buffalo to graduate from UB’s School of Pharmacy.
Mr. Rosen previously owned Buffalo Street Prescription Center, Greeting Cards Plus and Parker-Hertel Pharmacy before opening Parker Pharmacy at age 79. He was a longtime member of the Pharmacists Association of Western New York.
He had a passion for classical music and enjoyed traveling to Letchworth State Park and Canada to see the leaves changing color in autumn.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, the former Elaine Prince; three daughters, Lynn Miller, Patricia Kawi and Pamela Hazelet; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. June 14 at Congregation Havurah, 6320 Main St., Williamsville.
