LOCKPORT – Lockport Common Council President Joseph C. Kibler has announced his candidacy for re-election to his seat as alderman at large.
Kibler, a Republican, is facing Democratic nominee R. Joseph O’Shaughnessy, a golf professional and former School Board member.
Kibler said, “I believe my experience will definitely help our city, along with the Common Council and the leadership of our current mayor. We now know where mistakes have been made in the past and we are in a position to correct them.”
Kibler, widely known as a baseball coach and umpire, currently serves on the Police Board and operates the Community Pride work program for City Court defendants on Saturday mornings. He is also interim chairman of the Niagara County Planning Board, president of the Cold Spring Cemetery Board and a past chairman of the city Zoning Board of Appeals.
