Lou Barlow is indie-rock royalty, and his work with Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and Folk Implosion has had a tangible influence on all of the indie, lo-fi and garage rock that came in its wake. That Barlow’s reformed Sebadoh exists at all is a blessing; that Sebadoh will perform Thursday in Mohawk Place (47 East Mohawk St.) is an absolute godsend for anyone purporting to be a fan of underground rock.
Expect to hear a whole slew of material, surely to include a few selections form 2013’s excellent “Defend Yourself,” and hopefully, a bit of “Bakesale,” too. The evening kicks off at 8 p.m. with an opening set from Cleveland indie-rock outfit Total Babes. Tickets are $14 (Mohawk Place, Ticketmaster).
