Chayse Primeau, son of former Philadelphia Flyers captain Keith Primeau, announced his commitment to Canisius College for the 2016-17 season.
The 17-year-old from Voorhees, N.J., played his senior year of high school for Bishop Eustace Prep, where his father served as an assistant coach. The forward was selected by the Lincoln Stars in the USHL Draft Phase II last month along with his brother, Cayden. Primeau was a third-team All-State selection in New Jersey and was the NJ.com Ice Hockey Player of the Week in February when he scored 15 goals over a 10-game winning streak for Bishop Eustace.
His father played for Detroit, Hartford/Carolina and the Flyers amassing 266 career goals and 353 assists in 909 games.
Primeau is the second son of an NHLer to verbally commit to the Golden Griffins. Daniel LaFontaine, son of former Buffalo Sabre Pat LaFontaine, committed to Canisius for the 2015-16 season.
