LOCKPORT – Occupants of a Town of Royalton home were able to flee safely before it was destroyed by fire Sunday evening, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday.
The fire at 4611 Peet St. was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday. When firefighters and sheriff’s deputies got there, they found the single-family home was fully engulfed in flames, officials said.
Firefighters from Middleport, Gasport and Wolcottsville responded to the alarm. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.
The Red Cross was called to assist the occupants of the home.
