Police investigate forced entry

DUNKIRK – The Dunkirk Police Department is investigating a “forced residential entry” in the 200 block of Lord Street at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday.

A 73 year old woman was pushed down after answering the door for two males. The heaver set subject asked for the whereabouts of a person not known to the victim.  When they found out the victim did not know who they were asking for, they left the home.  The victim called 911.  Police and Dunkirk Fire and Rescue took her to Brooks Hospital for treatment of a back injury.

Anyone with information on this incident can call the Dunkirk Police at 366-2266 or the confidential tip line at 363-0313.

Police reminded the public to be cautious when opening their doors to strangers. If you are not sure who is at the door, it is best to not answer, police said. If the stranger persists, they warn, call 911 right away.
