A Custer Street man has been charged in connection with a series of car larcenies in the area near Kenmore, Starin and Englewood avenues, Town of Tonawanda Police reported.
Eric D. Sandy, 26, spent several May nights breaking into a dozen vehicles in the town, police said. He took, among other items, a shotgun, camping equipment, money and personal documents. Evidence police recovered had Sandy’s fingerprints on it, according to the police.
Sandy was arrested Thursday night by town police after a brief foot chase from his Custer Street address. He was charged with grand larceny, petit larceny and trespassing. He was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $2,500 bail, Tonawanda Police Capt. Joseph F. Carossi said.
He is scheduled to appear in town court at 1 p.m. Thursday.
