Summer recreation programs for youth will receive a $20,000 boost in county funding, Legislator Lynne Dixon announced. The City of Lackawanna and Lackawanna Sports & Education will each receive $10,000 in Summer Primetime funding, Dixon added.
“The funding is used to create a safe and structured environment that is critically needed,” Dixon said. “I am proud to support the Primetime Funding request to help ensure that our local youth have access to quality activities and programs this summer.” This week:
• City Council members will caucus at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers in City Hall with regular meeting to follow at 7.
• “Fascinating Forms: A Patricia Layman Bazelon Retrospective” continues through Nov. 10 at Steel Plant Museum located in the Heritage Discovery Center, 100 Lee St., Buffalo. Bazelon’s photos capture the beauty of abandoned industrial architecture at the old Bethlehem Steel plant site. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
