Marilla’s seven-date summer concert series kicks off Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. performance by the Iroquois Middle School Orchestra, directed by Bill Staebell.

The performance is scheduled for the pavilion behind Marilla Town Hall on Bullis Road.

After a five-week break, the series resumes at noon on July 9 with “It’s Magic of Course.”

Other dates include a movie night on July 16 at dusk with the movie to be determined; July 23, The Frankfurters, 6:30 p.m.; July 29, Nickel City Reptiles, noon; July 30, The Diva Show Band, 6:30 p.m.

The series concludes Aug. 6 when Jack Civiletto performs Frank Sinatra classics at noon.

This week:

• The Wales Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Community Center, 12345 Big Tree Road.

• First Baptist Church of Marilla hosts Tim Zimmerman & King’s Brass for a concert at 6 p.m. June 7 at the church, 11651 Bullis Road. The band will play a mix of classical, sacred and comedy pieces.
