Babcock played the Sabres to land Toronto job
I have no problem with Mike Babcock not wanting to coach here. If he doesn’t want to be here, we don’t want him here.
However, what I do have a problem with is him playing games and pretending that he does. He should have been honest and up-front about it. He played the Sabres brass and also his “beloved” Detroit Red Wings. He had Toronto in his sights from the start. He wanted to see how much money (and power) he could get and played one team against another. He did the same thing pretending he wanted to stay in Detroit. I wish I could say I wish him good luck (I don’t) because he is going to need it.
