Falls thief uses baby stroller to make off with candy bars and condoms

NIAGARA FALLS – Police said a man filled a baby stroller with boxes of candy bars and condoms worth $103, then walked out of a Hyde Park Boulevard service station early Saturday.

Kenneth E. Ellison, 55, of 14th Street, was arrested at 6:35 a.m. at the 7-Eleven store across the street from the scene of the theft, a Gulf station. He was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Police said video surveillance shows Ellison and another man entering the store, and Ellison emptying three boxes of candy bars into the baby stroller while a store clerk is being distracted. Ellison then adds the contents of a full box of condoms said, before walking out of the store, police said.

The accomplice is still at large, police added.
