REISMAN, David Samuel

REISMAN - David Samuel Of Machias, ME, formerly of Buffalo, NY, May 23, 2015. He was born August 14, 1927 in Buffalo, to Harry Reisman and Jessie (Goldberg) Reisman. He was a radio "quiz kid". He graduated from Masten High School in 1944, was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1947 and earned a law degree from the University of Buffalo in 1951. He worked as an NLRB attorney in California and Pennsylvania until joining Sperry-Univac (now Unisys) in 1967. He traveled the world as a corporate attorney, retiring in 1995. He returned to Buffalo and was an ombudsman, public affairs discussion leader and Congregation Havurah member. In 2010, he joined his son in Maine. After a stroke, he moved to the Machias Veterans Home and Marshalls HCF. David loved poetry and drama, The New Yorker, the Sunday New York Times, dill pickles, cheese, vanilla milkshakes and Buffalo chicken wings. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Rena Reisman. He is survived by son Jon and wife Ernie of Cooper, ME, daughter Cindy Barry and husband David Wilbanks of Nevada City, CA, daughter Jessica Reisman of Austin, TX, grandchildren Asher, Avram and Kate, nieces Jeanne (Len Goldschmidt), Linda and Nancy (Rick Hilles) Reisman, nephew David (Betsy Abramson) Reisman and friend Janet Gross (Lo Wunder). A Memorial Service in Buffalo will be announced in the future.
