A 48-year-old man faces felony DWI charges after Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies stopped him while he was operating a riding lawn mower in the Town of Sherman.
Eric J. Lacross was traveling on Sherman Stedman Road pulling a trailer just before 10 p.m. Thursday when deputies saw the mower lacked adequate lighting. When they pulled the riding mower over, they discovered Lacross was consuming an alcoholic beverage.
Lacross, who had two prior DWI within the past 10 years, also was charged with insufficient tail lamps and an additional lighting violation for the trailer.
He also was charged with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, a Cub Cadet lawn mower.
Lacross was arraigned in the Town of Sherman Court and was released on his own recognizance.
