The Kenmore West High School Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee announced the members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2015. The induction ceremony will be Friday, Oct. 16, at Banchetti by Rizzo’s, Amherst. The inductees are: Margaret Allen (2000 graduate), Lyndsey Brown (1999 graduate), Michelle Brown (1997 graduate), Wally Chapman (honorary 1971 graduate), Justin Cicatello (2002 graduate), Colleen Duffy (coach), Scott Moser (2007 graduate), Edvin Ramulic (2008 graduate), and Lily Rzepa (1997 graduate). In addition, the Veterans Committee selected Dick Gaynor (1955 graduate), David Johnson (1960 graduate), and George Koesters (1949 graduate). BASEBALL: Baseball coaches still have time to register their teams for the PAL/Independent Health Summer League. There are openings left in all divisions: Boys 8-10; 13 and under; 16 and under; 19 and under. Price is $325 per team and the deadline is Monday. Individuals may apply as well. BASKETBALL: Tryouts for the girls 2015 Buffalo BCANY (Basketball Coaches Association of New York) tournament team will be held on Wednesday and June 10 at Cardinal O’Hara High School from 6:30-9 p.m. Registration at 6 p.m. Players should plan to attend both sessions. The tournament consists of all-star teams from each section of New York State playing against each other in Johnson City from July 31-Aug. 2. All high school age girls from the Section VI region are eligible to try out. Cost is $50 a player, plus travel costs. For details, contact Nick O’Neil, 465-4817. ... The Kenmore West boys basketball staff is accepting applications for their annual camp on July 13-16, held at Kenmore West High School. Grades 3-5 will run from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., and 6-9 from noon-3 p.m. Participants will receive individual instruction, use of the NOAH Shooting Machine, which charts your shots, offensive and defensive strategy, as well as individual and team competitions. RUNNING: The Kelly Tough 12K Beat the Train Down Main, to benefit Hunter’s Hope, will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. It starts at UB’s South Campus and finishes in front of the First Niagara Center, followed by a celebration and awards ceremony at Alumni Plaza.
