Last year: Brendon Todd claimed his first victory on the PGA Tour in his 77th event, closing with a bogey-free, 4-under-par 66 to finish two strokes ahead of Canada’s Mike Weir, who shot 67. Todd, who became the fifth golfer from the University of Georgia to win on the circuit in 2014, took the lead with birdies on the ninth and 10th holes. He stayed ahead when he made a remarkable par 3 on the 13th hole, where his tee shot landed next to a tree, forcing him to chip left-handed. Todd’s second shot with a 4-iron turned backward stopped 7 feet from the hole, and he made the putt. He later sank a 14-footer for par on the 17th hole to protect his two-shot lead and make his victory walk down the 18th a lot easier.

On the 17th hole, Pernice chipped in from about 30 feet for a birdie to briefly take the lead before Garwood matched him by sinking a 10-foot birdie putt that eventually led to the playoff after both players also birdied No. 18.
