Five hockey players from Western New York were selected to represent the 2015 U.S. All-Star 10 and under team which will compete at the All-Star Tournament and Skills Showcase May 28-31 in Toronto, Ont., at the new Scotiabank Pond. Joseph Lovullo (goalie), Brock Jones (forward), Tyler Mancuso (defense), Jimmy Shaw (forward) and Trevor Ward (defense) were among 34 players selected from across the United States.

BASEBALL: Players ages 9-14 can extend their season through the fall with Team New Era Fall Elite Travel Teams. Teams will participate in league and tournament play in September and October. BASKETBALL: Tryouts to represent the USA and play in the Dominican Republic next March for girls entering grades 9-12 this coming school year will be held at North Buffalo Community Center on May 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Tryouts cost $10. Call Rachelle Matthys, 871-8719.

GOLF: The Riviera Theatre will hold its 9th Golf Tournament on June 1 at Tan Tara Golf Club, 4391 Tonawanda Creek Road, Pendleton. All proceeds will benefit the preservation of the theatre and Mighty Wurlitzer organ. Cost is $100 per person for 18 holes of golf and includes two carts per foursome, buffet lunch at noon, open bar from 6-7 p.m. and dinner to follow with beer and pop served throughout the day and includes great door prizes.
