When five members of Washington, D.C.’s You, Me and Everyone We Know took to the band’s Facebook page in 2011 and announced their musical partnership with heavy-drinking frontman Ben Liebsch as “irreparable,” it seemed to close the curtain on a rising emo act who’d shown glimmers of promise.
Four years later, a now-sober and repentant Liebsch has rebooted his hard-charging sextet with new bandmates, ones he’ll bring inside Studio @ Waiting Room (334 Delaware Ave.) for an all-ages show at 6 p.m. Sunday. Now touring behind the EP “Dogged,” the retooled outfit is hoping to pick up where Liebsch left off with the band’s previous incarnation, when its brand of angrily annunciated power pop garnered stylistic comparisons to acts like Fall Out Boy and Say Anything. Those who take in YMEWK’s weekend appearance – with supporting acts Daisyhead, Future Crooks, Trespassers and Good Luck – can judge whether the new edition can recapture the original’s buzz.
