To celebrate Memorial Day weekend, a parade will be held in Niagara Falls on Saturday. It will start at 11 a.m. at the City Market, 1800 Pine Ave, and move to the American Veterans Monument in Hyde Park. The parade will include police, fire and military vehicles and personnel, along with classic and antique cars, clowns and other floats.
At a ceremony at the monument to begin about 12:30 p.m., keynote speaker Lt. Col. Mark Onesi will share his experiences in being inside the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
There will also be musical performances by Nick Zawacki, the Rainbow Singers, Tomorrow Allen-Collins, Lora L. Allen and Terra Tonellato.
The event is organized by the Niagara Falls Veterans Memorial Commission.
