DUNKIRK – Dunkirk officials are investigating a suspicious debris fire at the former Edgewood warehouse building at 320 S. Roberts Road that was put out early Thursday afternoon by the Dunkirk Fire Department, according to Dunkirk Fire Chief Michael Edwards.
Fire crews, called to the building about 11 a.m., found the debris fire in the building had spread to an interior wall. Several hose lines and heavy equipment supplied by the city Public Works Department were needed to put out the fire, which took about two hours. No injuries were reported, according to Edwards.
No estimate of the financial damage was released. The Fredonia Fire Department sent an engine to Dunkirk fire headquarters as a precautionary measure.
