NIAGARA FALLS – City residents can turn in unused black garbage bags for a roll of clear bags in which to dispose of yard waste, the city has announced.
Residents can trade in bags from 9 to 11 a.m. June 3 at the LaSalle Senior Center, 9501 Colvin Blvd., and 5 to 7 p.m. June 4 at the John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd.
The city is offering the trade because of a change in city law requiring yard waste to be disposed of in either clear bags or paper craft landscape bags.
In order to get clear bags, residents must present a roll or box (at least 20) of .95 millimeter or larger bags that have at least a 39-gallon capacity. There’s a limit of one per household, and residents must present identification to verify their address. The offer is valid while supplies last.
