Back pay for fired officer is an insult to taxpayers
I am writing in regard to the union grievance that former Buffalo Police Officer Jorge Melendez won against the city. It is laughable. He is a criminal. Why doesn’t the city deduct from the owed $200,000 all of the hours he spent on the city’s time growing his marijuana crop and making sure his “side job” was bringing in all that extra dough?
There is something not right with this. I am, and always will be, a union member and supporter, however, a crook is a crook. Why not make Melendez pay back the city for the wages he received doing his “pot check” and also run that by the IRS?
