43North workshop Thursday for women- and minority-owned firms

A networking event to inspire women and minorities to enter the 43North competition will be held Thursday on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

“Think Big” will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in dig (the Design Innovation Garage), 640 Ellicott St. The event is the result of a partnership between 43North, the National Black MBA Association of WNY and the National Association of Women Business Owners. Female and minority-owned team winners from the inaugural competition, including triMirror and KeepUp, will be the featured presenters and will share experiences of the application process, winning and now operating successful ventures in Buffalo. The business-plan competition offers $5 million in prizes, including a $1-million grand prize.

In addition to inspiring entrepreneurs to be 43North applicants, the event also aims to create new networking opportunities for local minority and women-owned businesses.

RSVPs for the event should be sent to jparker@jparkerpr.com.
