Front page May 17, 1915: 'Taxpayers ignored' in island deal

Among the local news on the day's front page:

"Broderick's committee is doing its part"

"The wharves and harbors committee of the aldermen, as expected, will report to the board this afternoon in favor of the purchase of the idle islands opposite the foot of Main street. Formal action to this effect had not been taken by the committee up until noon today, but Chairman Joseph P. Broderick said then he expected a majority of the committee members would sign the report, if it was decided to present it at the meeting."
