Sweet Home product Wayne Gordon had a day to remember, while the University at Buffalo won one event, broke a school record and finished in the top three in six other events during the final day of the Mid-American Conference Track and Field Championships in Muncie, Ind.
Gordon, who runs for Kent State, secured the title of fastest man in the MAC by winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes en route to meet MVP honors for running events. Gordon led Kent to a third-place finish. Eastern Michigan won the team title.
Meghan Manley won the 800-meter race in 2 minutes, nine seconds and seven one-hundredths of a second.
Brian Crimmins broke his own school record in the 1,500, placing third in 3:47.93.
The UB men placed fourth with 110.5 points, while the women took eighth with 51.5, just 1.5 points shy of sixth. Akron placed first to claim the women’s title.
UB’s Ryan Billian finished second in the 100 and fifth in the 200. He, Darien Johnson, Joshua Gali and Brian Cummiskey took second in the 4x100 relay (40.10 seconds).
