Civil War library opening in Marilla

The Marilla Historical Society officially opens a new Civil War library Sunday at 2 p.m.

Mary Beth Serafin, president of the society said the Cal Doucette Civil War Library is a “significant addition” for the group.

Doucette was a historian who held an interest in living history, portraying Horace Greeley, a well-known figure of the Civil War and editor of the New York Tribune.

Sunday’s opening takes place at the Marilla Community Center, 1810 Two Rod Road. A reception follows the presentation.
