GAINESVILLE – A garage, car, pickup truck, lawn mower, and tools were destroyed in a fire in Gainesville Thursday evening, Wyoming County authorities reported.
Firefighters were called out about 7 p.m. and were able to contain the fire to the attached garage, limiting damage to the house to smoke damage. Damage to the property at 5240 Quarry Road, owned by Alan Hamann, was estimated at $75,000.
Firefighters were at the scene for about four hours.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
Several volunteer fire companies responded: Gainesville, Bliss, North Java, Pike, Silver Springs, Warsaw, Arcade, Attica, Perry, Perry Center, Strykersville, Varysburg, Nunda, Alexander and Castile, according to Gainesville Assistant Fire Chief Rob Patterson.
