Hispanic Heritage Council plans breakfast fundraiser

This year’s Community Breakfast fundraiser for the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York will be at 9 a.m. June 13 at Templeton Landing, near Erie Basin Marina. Proceeds from the breakfast support events throughout the year that celebrate Hispanic traditions, culture and heritage.

Former Buffalo City Court Judge Raul Figueroa will be the speaker and the council will unveil its history project, “Journey of Hispanics in Western New York,” featuring area pioneers.

The council is a volunteer-run entity that depends solely on charitable contributions to sponsor cultural events throughout Western New York. Over the past year, the council has sponsored or collaborated with other arts and cultural institutions to hold more than 20 activities, including Dia de los Tres Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day), El Día del Niño (Day of the Child), a Cinco de Mayo celebration and the Hispanic Heritage Month Film Festival.

Tickets for the breakfast are $30; $225 for a table for eight. Anyone interested in sponsoring the breakfast has until June 5 to purchase ads in the program. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to
