Robert M. Goldberg has been unanimously elected to serve as the next chief executive officer and executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo.
A four-month national search, which attracted candidates from around the United States and Canada, preceded this week’s election of Goldberg, who’s vice president for leadership and governance, and interim chief campus officer at Hillel International in Washington, D.C. He has held numerous senior leadership positions with that organization during the past 15 years.
“Rob is an exceptional leader whose wisdom, collaborative style and demonstrated commitment to our mission and community make him the ideal choice,” said Howard Rosenhoch, president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo.
Though he’s been working in Washington, Goldberg and his wife, Shira, who have three adult children, live in Amherst and are active members of Congregation B’nai Shalom.
Goldberg will take office in August, succeeding Lewis Stolzenberg, the interim executive director.
